NOEMAR is a furniture and product design studio in Vienna, founded in 2025 by Noelani Mattstedt and Marcel Bednarz. Our practice is rooted in exploration, narrative, and humour. United by a shared background at the Design Academy Eindhoven, we design furniture, objects and products that foster meaningful interaction and spark daily joy, guided by our motto ‘la necessità di bellezza’.

Our work is defined by an explorative approach and a strong sense of storytelling. Our asterisk icon reflects the essence of our practice: a symbol that beyond an object’s initial appearance, there is always an extra layer, a playful twist, or a story waiting to unfold. Our practice moves between collectible furniture and design commissions, produced with selected partners or in our studio in Vienna.

Good design goes beyond simple utility. An everyday object earns its place in our homes not just by working properly, but by having personality and making us feel good. Guided by “the necessity of beauty,” we step away from rigid minimalism to create pieces that are friendly, tactile, and expressive. It is a daily reminder that bringing beauty, warmth, and a little pleasure into routine moments is a purpose in itself.
