An Audience of Me

Designed around the pleasure of eating together, the project brings sharing, conversation and interaction to the centre of the dining experience. It is a concept for restaurants seeking a playful and meaningful experience for its guests, creating memories far beyond just the food served.

At the core of the concept is the table, defined by its grid-like, open surface. Custom tableware slots into the holes, filling up the surface as the evening continues. Limited in size, the plates and dishes reinforce tapas-style dining, encouraging sharing and the tasting of multiple small dishes.

The spinning tabletop introduces movement into the dining experience, allowing dishes to travel naturally between diners. Its playful mechanism encourages people to reach, turn, share and interact with one another throughout the meal. What might otherwise be a simple act of passing food becomes a physical, social and memorable part of dining.
